Introducing the GreenShield Awards 2025: Celebrating Leadership, Scientific Literacy & Positive Change in the UK Cannabis Sector

As we reach the end of the year, we are proud to introduce the GreenShield Awards. This annual recognition celebrates the organisations and teams who are helping move the UK cannabis community forward through compassion, clarity, education and genuine commitment to people.

The GreenShield Awards highlight those who have shown leadership in many different ways. Some have strengthened patient care, some have contributed to community or charitable initiatives, some have invested in literacy and safety, and others have helped raise standards across the wider sector. Each winner is unique, and each has made a meaningful difference.

Throughout December, we will be announcing five GreenShield Award recipients, each with their own story, their own impact and their own reasons for being recognised.

What the GreenShield Awards Represent

The GreenShield Awards are about celebrating organisations that prioritise:

• Care for people: Patients, families, communities, staff and partners. These winners put people at the centre of their work.

• Social and community impact: Contributions that help support, educate or uplift others, whether through charitable action, outreach or advocacy.

• Positive leadership: Efforts that bring clarity, responsibility and integrity to the cannabis space, especially in an area that is still developing.

• Commitment to learning and literacy: A willingness to deepen understanding, improve communication and help others navigate this field with confidence.

• Progress and collaboration: The spirit of working together, sharing knowledge and helping strengthen the wider ecosystem.

• Recognition of unseen work: The GreenShield Awards were created to recognise organisations doing the work that often goes unseen. Many of the most meaningful contributions in this field are quiet, steady and deeply human. These awards shine a light on that effort.

The awards do not recognise a single type of success. They recognise meaningful effort, responsible action and positive influence in all its forms.

Celebrating Five Winners This December

Across December, we will publish five short articles introducing each winner. These spotlights will share:

• who they are
• what they have achieved
• how they have supported patients, communities or colleagues
• why their work stands out this year
